WWF vs. Scrabble: Key Differences
Different word list
WWF uses ENABLE β a broader dictionary than NWL. Many words valid in WWF are not valid in tournament Scrabble, and some NWL words are rejected by WWF.
Different tile values
Several tiles score differently. B, C, F, M, P score higher in WWF. D, L, N, R, U score lower. This changes which plays are highest-value.
Board layout differs
The WWF board has different premium square placement than the classic Scrabble board. Opening lines and corner strategies need to be adapted.
Rack size is the same
Both games use 7 tiles. Playing all 7 in one turn still earns a 35-point bonus in WWF (vs. 50 in Scrabble).
