Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Words with Friends anagrammer?+

An anagrammer takes the letters in your rack and returns every valid word that can be formed from them. Unlike a board solver, it focuses purely on your tiles — ideal for studying rack combinations and finding high-value plays.

How is this different from the Words with Friends cheat tool?+

The intent is different. The cheat tool is for mid-game play decisions. The anagrammer is for studying tile combinations, understanding which letter sets produce bingos, and practising your rack reading speed. It also adds a sort-by-score mode that shows your highest-value plays first across all lengths.

What word list does this use?+

ENABLE — the same dictionary used by Words with Friends. All words returned are valid in WWF. Point values shown use official WWF tile scores, which differ from Scrabble.

How do I enter a blank tile?+

Type ? for each blank tile. Blanks can substitute for any letter. They score 0 points and the anagrammer accounts for this when calculating word scores.

What does "By score" sort mode do?+

Normally results are grouped by word length (7-letter plays first, then 6, etc.). "By score" flattens everything into a single ranked list — highest points first regardless of length. Useful when you just want to play the single best-scoring word.
