Frequently Asked Questions
How does the Words with Friends board solver work?+
Enter your rack letters and a board pattern using letters for tiles already placed and _ (underscore) for empty squares you want to fill. The solver finds every valid ENABLE word that matches the pattern and can be formed from your rack, sorted by WWF point value.
What is a board pattern?+
A pattern describes a slot on the board. Letters in the pattern represent tiles already placed; underscores (_) represent squares you need to fill from your rack. Example: if there is an A in position 2 of a 3-square slot, the pattern is _A_. Your rack supplies the two missing letters.
How is this different from the regular WWF cheat tool?+
The regular cheat tool finds all words you can form purely from your rack. The board solver specifically helps when your play must connect to existing board tiles — you tell it exactly which letters are fixed, and it finds plays that work around them.
Does it calculate premium square scores?+
The base tile values shown use official WWF scores. Premium square bonuses (DW, TW, DL, TL) depend on exactly where you place the word on the board — the tool shows the board layout so you can calculate the final score with multipliers yourself.
